When we first saw antique Torah fragments we were struck by their poignant beauty and the Jewish history they represented. Generations of Jews around the world had gathered to read from these very same scrolls through good times and bad. The pieces are a source of awe and inspiration ... and stand as a testament to the devotion of their communities of origin. Spiritual Artifacts - our business - also carries special meaning to us because of our own Jewish backgrounds. My parents were Holocaust survivors that immigrated to Australia after the war. I was raised with an appreciation for the past and a strong sense of Jewish religious and cultural tradition. My wife Deborah's family were Jews of Iraqi origin. When they fled Iraq they went to Israel, eventually making their way to England and then Canada ... bringing their Sephardi traditions with them. We have precious few personal photos and mementos of our past generations. These fragments come from scrolls that were used in our families' communities. They stand as a bridge to our heritage. Sam Gliksman Sam also works as the Director of Educational Technology at a Jewish high school. Deborah is a designer specializing in graphic design and landscaping. Sam and Deborah lived in Israel for many years and presently live in Los Angeles with their three children. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like additional information.
